British actor Fisayo Akinade will appear on TV screens next year as Dean in Russell T Davies's multi-platform follow up to gay drama Queer as Folk for Channel 4, E4 and online.

Cucumber, Banana and Tofu will explore gay life across different generations in Britain, and has been described by Channel 4's chief creative officer Jay Hunt as 'channel-defining'. Akinade, who played the lead role of Alem in the stage production of Refugee Boy last year, is also set to star in BBC One drama Ordinary Lies, airing in 2015.
